SANTO DOMINGO
About the project
ARR - MDL
Corrientes - Argentina
2007 - 2027
The Santo Domingo Project is Argentina's most emblematic large-scale reforestation initiative: the first and only forestry project registered under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) of the Kyoto Protocol in the country.
Launched in 2007 in Corrientes, it integrates fast-growing species with high-value native species—lapacho, cañafístula, loro negro, and anyico—with the goal of creating a permanent, multi-generational, and native forest. More than 3 million trees have been planted. FSC certification has been in effect since 2008. Triple impact verified: economic, social, and environmental.
